And what a beautiful wedding it was...

Lance and I were proud to stand by Zac and Jessica as they got married this weekend at Alderbrook Resort.  There was some worry about the weather, but as if on cue, the clouds broke and it stopped raining  in time for them to take pictures and have an outdoor ceremony.  Then as we all headed inside to get the party started, it started raining again!  As my dad said, "Good things happen to good people."

With dad at the rehearsal dinner.

The two love birds at the rehearsal dinner.

Sawyer was able to meet a lot of family members that hadn't met her yet, but with all the commotion and excitement, she had a tough day and wasn't as "pass around-able" as usual.  She was also "that" baby that started crying during the speeches and set off the other 4 (yes 4!) babies that were in attendance! Oh well!  With that being said she slept for 8 hours that night and was quite a peach the next morning...hmmmmm.  Here's a few pics
Thanks to Grandpa Dick for watching her during the ceremony and a lot of the reception so Mom and Dad could be a big part of the festivities and even get in a dance move or two!

Finally she is down for the count, in time to pose with some handsome dudes and some pretty ladies.

What a great family! (Auntie Jess could be found on the dance floor--all night!)

The Newlyweds took off for Victoria the next morning and we were all there to give them a good send off.  Fantastic weekend!

10 weeks! (9/10)

She started smiling as soon as I brought out the basketball!  She's gonna be a baller!
Not quite ready for this yet!  Almost...

Summer livin'

So much to post, so little time!
Here's the last two and a half weeks in a snapshot:
Smiles - Sawyer can smile now! And has been for a few weeks, it is amazing the joy she brings when she busts out the gummy smile.  They are pretty easy to get out of her, although I find myself making some great faces to get her to keep it up.

Me trying to get her to smile more:

Next up is that mom went back to work..back to the grind.  Tough transition to be honest.  The first few days were just training, so not as tiring.  We are so thankful that we have family and friends willing to babysit for a few days a month.  We have care figured out until January and then when I go back to work full time, we have to figure something else out.  But it felt okay to leave her with someone I know rather than a total stranger.  School actually starting was a whole different issue!  Talk about exhaustion...I forget every year how tough the first few weeks are with kindergarteners.  As my prinicipal said, "It's just like child birth, if you remembered, you would never do it again!"  Agreed :)  Ask me again in 6 weeks how it is going...

Helping in mommy's classroom...okay sleeping in mommy's classroom.
First trip to the cabin!
Sawyer made her first trip up to the cabin for Labor Day weekend.  Dad went crabbing, Sawyer napped, Mom helped with wedding crafts, Sawyer napped, we all celebrated Papa's birthday, Sawyer wore her party dress, and then napped, mom and dad went for a bike ride, we all went to the ice cream stand, Sawyer napped... it was a true cabin trip and we all can't wait to go again soon.
Sawyer with the bride-to-be during our cocktail tasting hour (or 4).

In her party dress for Papa's birthday.

Napping while everyone else eats ice cream cones as big as her head :)

Toasting (and eating) some giant s'mores.
The end of a great weekend!
